Juan Carlos got his BS in Mechanical Engineering from The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and his MScME from Oregon State University . His area of expertise is Design with emphasis in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Experimental Mechanics.
Juan Carlos has 15 years of experience and during this time has participated in several industry and university projects in different fields as biomechanics, sports, robotics, appliances, rail transportation and automotive. He performed the Structural Analysis (both FEA and Experimental) for the Light Rail Vehicle for the City of Minneapolis during his position as Engineering Manager at Bombardier Transportation. He also performed the experimental structural evaluation for the trolleys currently in service in Mexico City for MASA as a consultant.
He has been lecturer in different national and international congresses like the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and the Computer Aided Design and Engineering Congress among others. He participated as guest speaker at the ASME Light Rail Vehicle Committee in 2002 and has worked at different Universities teaching a series of engineering courses like Applied FEA, Experimental Mechanics, Mechanical Vibrations, Mechanisms Design among others. Was elected ASME College Relations President in the year of 1994 and was part of the Mini-Baja Race Team as advisor for the Monterrey Technological Institute (ITESM-CEM) the same year.
