Jorge’s
expertise in the design process, new product development and
total design management has helped numerous companies of different
sizes in many fields, including electro-domestic appliances,
home and office furniture, medical equipment, automotive and
mass transportation. Before founding MADE, he was appointed
Director of Design and Engineering for the Canadian company
Bombardier Transportation where he successfully created the
Industrial Design Department and implemented an Integrated/Concurrent
Product Development methodology as well as 6 Sigma and DFSS
techniques for the design and development of Light Rail Vehicles
in the USA.
ICSID Regional Advisor for North America since 2001, Jorge
earned an MA in Design in Birmingham, England and a PhD in
Production Engineering in Brazil. Actively working as a Strategic
Design and Business management consultant for more than 25
years, he has combined his professional assignments in the
industry with other design related activities such as: Guest
lecturer and speaker in 20 countries of the 5 continents;
guest writer for Design magazines in Europe and the Americas;
Author of one book; President and general coordinator of several
international Design seminars and Interdesign workshops. He
was elected ICSID’s Executive Board Member in Taiwan
in 1995 and re-elected for a second period in Toronto in 1997.
